UNRIC Says NO to Violence against Women and Girls

UNRIC Interns and Staff on Orange Day25 July 2012 – On the occasion of the first Orange Day, United Nations Regional Information Centre for Western Europe (UNRIC) interns and staff wore orange to raise awareness of, and say no to, violence against women and girls.

Orange Day, proclaimed by the UN Secretary-General’s UNiTE to End Violence against Women campaign, will be observed every 25th of the month in the months leading up to the 57th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women in March next year.

UNRIC encourages you to participate in this initiative by wearing, and inviting others to wear, orange on every 25th of the month, spread the word about it in social media, and use and share the photo of the UNiTE ribbon – the new symbol for ending violence against women and girls.
