UNBT at the Fête de l'Environnement - Groot Milieufeest – 2011
Brussels will celebrate World Environment Day with festivities in Cinquanteraire Park on Sunday 5 June. Under the theme forests and “Brussels a green city”, environment actors from the Brussels region will showcase their work and projects. The information village will be open between11.00-18.00 and is followed by a concert with world famous Belgian artist Milow at 18.00.
The UN Stand will be promoting the International Year of Forests as well as the International Year of Youth. Cartoon character Marsupilami will be present at the UN stand to teach children about nature and between 14.00-16.00 the UN stand will be visited by UN Youth Champion Monique Coleman who is passing through Belgium on her world tour to empower youth.
