Invitation: Film screening followed by a debate with UN Special Representative Margot Wallström 25 May 12:00-14:00
MEP Göran Färm, the King Baudouin Foundation, and UN Special Representative Margot Wallström cordially invite you to the premier of “Resolution”, a brand-new documentary by award-winning Marika Griehsel. The screening will be preceded by lunch and followed by a discussion with Ms. Wallström and special guest from the Democratic Republic of Congo Dr. Denis Mukwege.
In 2010, Margot Wallström as the first UN Special Representative on Sexual Violence in Conflict used her mandate to develop and lobby for the adoption of UN Security Council Resolution 1960, a strategic tool that gives the international community the capacity to eff ectively go after those responsible for conflict-related sexual violence.
The documentary “Resolution” follows Wallström and her team as they meet with rape survivors and frontline activists in conflict areas across the globe. During ten brief months they shine the spotlight on rape being used as a strategic weapon and place the issue at the top of the UN Security Council’s agenda.
