International Conference on Global Food Security, Brussels, 23 May

FAO is invited by the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) to the International conference on Global Food security which will be held in Brussels on 23rd of May 2011. Mr. Hafez Ghanem, Assistant Director-General, Economic and Social Development Department, will deliver a speech at the opening session and will make a presentation on Food security and the functioning of the global agricultural markets.

Mr. Jamie Morrison, Senior Economist of the Trade and Markets Division will make an intervention in a panel on “Food security: the need for policy coherence between agriculture, trade and development policies.”
