Symposium on Information Systems for Food Security

Symposium on Information Systems for Food Security (ISFS), Brussels, 1-2 September 2010.

The EU Commission in collaboration with FAO is organizing a Symposium on Information Systems for Food Security (ISFS) on 1-2 September 2010 in Brussels. The Symposium will have for objectives (i) to draw lessons from recent ISFS experiences at national and regional levels;(ii) to examine the current needs and opportunities for capacity and institution building for decision-making at national and regional levels;(iii) to debate the merits and practical steps of a global initiative on ISFS assistance coordination.

This Symposium will contribute to a reflex ion on national food security information systems which are essential for national decision makers to anticipate, prevent and respond earlier to impending food security threats.
