Brussels, 29 June 2010, FAO Event at the European Parliament

On 29 June 2010, an FAO Specialist, Richard Thompson, will present the situation of obsolete pesticides during a mini-hearing onobsolete pesticides in Eastern European Countries, the Caucasus and Central Asian countries.  The event is organized by Mrs. Ria Oomen-Ruijten and Mrs. Esther de Lange (Members of the European Parliament).  It will be held at the European Parliament (Room A3E-2 from 14h to 17h).  The recent developments of extremely dangerous situations in Ukraine, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan will provide an opportunity to discuss common strategies for a structural plan to solve the obsolete pesticides problem in the coming decade in the region.
